anhinga in Wakodahatchee Wetlands - neck out

TODAY'S PHOTO -
yesterday's
Anhinga in Wakodahatchee Wetlands - almost full view

Anhingas seem to take pride in showing off their bodies, often lazily stretching, spreading wings and holding one pose for quite a while. Our friend here, whose head only I showed yesterday, said he wasn't sure if many people visited him with the link I had published in Issue 200.

Although he appreciated the concentration on his head and upper body, he also wanted to be sure that his stretched out neck and full body got broader and more permanent exposure in an issue of PICTURE TO PONDER.

As I look at him today, admiring his graceful lines, I smile as I glance at his inquiring gaze. The feet also catch my attention and I wonder if he is standing with them turned inwards or if that's the way they always are. I'll be sure to pay attention to Anhinga feet next time one is posturing on a rail.

SELF-REFLECTING QUERIES -
In today's description I've personified the Anhinga and made it seem as if he had talked to me. In fact, I do not claim to get messages from animals, flowers or other plants, although I have sometimes also referred to them as having spoken.

I simply enjoy "playing" with this from time to time. And perhaps in some way I am intuitively getting some kind "direction" from them.

How often do you take the time to see other than what you think is right in front of you? If and when you do, do you allow yourself the time play with it in some way - in an art form, or by taking an action?

Sometime before the end of this day, I invite you to look around to find an image of a person or animal in something you might actually look at all the time. When you find it, ask yourself, "If this could talk, what would it be saying?" You might also engage someone else in the conversation.

Have fun.
