anhinga in Wakodahatchee Wetlands

TODAY'S PHOTO -
an Anhinga in Wakodahatchee Wetlands ponders the week ahead

I am at peace. Wakodahatchee Wetlands has reopened after the hurricane. Fortunately there does not appear to be much damage in the interior and all the fallen light poles in the parking lot have been repaired. The boardwalk and gazebo-like covered resting areas are all intact.

Walking along the boardwalk, above the water, this morning I was once again reminded of how important to me is the overall feeling of being almost embraced by the water and the greenery that's there.

Added to that is the richness of the variety of images that always pop up for me as stimuli to my imagination. One example is "The moorhen eating a lobster tail" that I saw. Actually he was feeding on the underside of a broken spatterdock root. From a distance the "scaling" on it looked like the lobster. See MOORHEN FEEDING.

Back to today's photo. I selected this particular close up of the Anhinga for its thoughtful expression and the warmth and texture of its feathers. It was vying for spotlight with another view where he was sticking his neck out. See ANHINGA NECK.

SELF-REFLECTING QUERIES -
Have you taken time out yet to PONDER where you would like to take your week? Also do you know the places and actions that you can take which provide for you what Wakodahatchee does for me - peace and creativity, plus lots more?**

Are there areas where it would serve you to "stick your neck out" this week and take one or more risks? If "yes", to the latter question I invite you to do it.

Create a great week.

**For those of you relatively new to PICTURE TO PONDER, my ODE TO WAKODAHATCHEE will give you more of a sense of what Wakodahatchee Wetlands is to me and probably many of our readers.
