Snowy white egret
Graceful and patient stands proud
Front lawn visitor**

who made it's way to a neighbor's front door, after visiting my garden.

Having grown up and lived in cities in the Northeast, pigeons were quite common. Moving to the suburbs, blue jays and grackles became the common birds to see on our lawn.

As I looked out today, there was an egret on our front lawn. After the smaller birds, it's always a treat for me when I see these large tropical birds visiting our neighborhood. I, of course, grabbed my camera and observed and followed him for a while. I thought you would also have fun with this particular image.

**HAIKU
Earlier this week I wrote my first Haiku among a small group of writers in a program with Julie Jordan Scott. Participants there forecast that I would be writing a lot more, so when I received the invitation later in the day from Mary Gray to join her new Haiku writing class, I followed the seed that had been planted and said, "Yes." There is still time for others of you to register for that course. See Mary's Haiku.

SELF-REFLECTING QUERIES
-
With all that has been going on, post-hurricane related and otherwise, I have been feeling somewhat dispirited and resigned, particularly around getting out new issues of Picture to Ponder.

Last night, in putting together a list of of those that featured Wakodahatchee and Green Cay, I started flashing through back issues by simply following the arrows at the end of each that are on this site. My reaction was, "Wow! I did all of this. They are beautiful and inspiring." My whole mood shifted and was uplifted.

When is the last time you stepped back and looked at one or more things that you have been working on in your life? I invite you to do that now. It may mean writing a list, if you do not have visuals. Take a few minutes, or more, to feel the pride in your accomplishments. Bathe in them.
