TODAY'S PHOTO -

The Alstromeria flower that I mentioned as one of the choices at which I was looking for Friday's Issue.

One of the things I love about the Alstromeria is that they usually look good for at least a week and are quite reasonable in cost. I generally buy one"bunch", consisting of six stalks. Three go into my office and the other three on our kitchen table or in the living room.

Although they do not have a scent, at least in the hot house version, when I look at this photo I'm drawn in to want to smell it. Not sure I'd want to "taste" the flower and I could come up with some tastes, were I to think about it. Even planting the seed of that has start savoring a pink, frothy strawberry shake which is topped with white foam.

Those of you who are using these Picture to Ponder photos to jump start your writing might want to step away from my responses and use this photo to engage all of your senses, then writing about the sight, taste, smell, sound, texture of the flower and/or the space within which it rests.

READER COMMENTS ON THE LAST ISSUE - Issue 80
Responses to The Turtle and the Coot and the queries posted ranged from enjoying the animals to listing beautiful colored sunsets as favorite image

Another friend wrote that in Hawaii she was told that turtles represent peace and longevity, so I bought a turtle pendant this weekend.
