Loxahatchee sunset over the marsh

TODAY'S PHOTO - sunset over the marsh at Loxahatchee National Wildlife Refuge.

If you look closely you can see a different view of the bicyclist AND his bicycle that were featured in the last issue of PICTURE TO PONDER. If you are having trouble spotting them, click on another view, a Photoshop Elements 3 automatic "Smart Fix," much lighter. They really pop out here.

The image above is the one that reflects the overall mood and the feeling I got from the scene. Though I was wishing for a pink sunset, this was perfect.

SELF-REFLECTING QUERIES -
Per my wishing for pink, in my last statement, do you catch yourself wishing for something other than what's there? If so, do you remember to pause and find what you can be grateful for in the present?

Moving on to a slightly different conversation, while talking with the biker, he spoke of how he comes to this location 3 or 4 times a week and the sunsets are always different. Given that it's about 15 or 20 minutes from our home, it's not a place I can get to quickly when I remember how it might serve me. I felt a momentary twinge of disappointment. Envy?

Do you have places where you can go regularly to experience beauty and variety? Perhaps you've even created, or can create, such a sanctuary in your own home.

If places do not immediately come to mind, it might ultimately empower you to think of them and make a list for future reference.
As importantly, do you have a structure in place to remember them?

I often forget how much I appreciate sunrises and sunsets and do not think to even take the time to stop and look at my back window at sunset or out the front, if I've risen early, for sunrise. We are blessed to have East/West exposure.

As I write, I also recall the number of people who have written in the past who state when they need a peaceful time out during the day they go to my Nature's Playground.com site or the Tiles section in my gift shop.

I keep thinking I have to go someplace new to get that peaceful feeling. Time for me to wite a list. How about you?
