TODAY'S
PHOTO -
a Crinum Lily, oftentimes referred to as a Spider
Lily.
Sitting at our kitchen table late yesterday afternoon
I glanced out and saw this crinum lily. The open flower,
with the pod behind it (top, to the left of center),
is quite heavy and I marveled at how the green plants
underneath seemed to be supporting it. That, of course,
led me to grab my camera and "investigate."
I love the pink and lavender colors in the flower.
I chose this particular view from the series of photos
I took because it shows so well the rhythm and movement
of the lines and shapes in both the flower and the
repetition of the same in the plant beneath.
Those of you interested can see the full view of
the plant, and how low and far the flower is from
its source, by clicking on CRINUM
LILY LANDSCAPE.
The tall broad, spiky leaves in the back are the
plant from which the crinum lily flower comes.
SELF-REFLECTING QUERIES -
Perhaps, because of the richness and density of
the greenery, when looking at the Crinum
Lily Landscape photo I got the feeling of being
in a Rain Forest. Most of my experience of "Rain
Forests" had been in simulated ones in various
greenhouses in major garden attractions. I'd always
yearned to visit a real "Rain Forest"
and we were very fortunate to have that experience
when we visited Costa Rica last year.
Here in my own backyard, by changing perspective (getting
lower down and into the plants) I can experience a
similar feeling.
Look around you, inside and out. Are there places
in your life where you have a yearning, or two, that
you might find fulfilled in "your own backyard",
if you simply change your perspective?
AUDIO TESTIMONIALS -
Have you yet checked out the 28 second message from
Sondra,
who shares the impact on her life of a custom photo/drawing
of her father done by me?
Have you listened to Judith Tramayne-Barth and Renee
Kleckner on our AUDIO
LINKS page, where Judith also describes how easy
it is to record a message? I'd love to have your voice
there also. A sentence or two is more than enough, if
you are person of a few words.
I will publish the link for yours in Picture to Ponder
and on the testimonial
page on the eteletours site. You can call in yourself
at (214) 231-2905 ext 6956 or, if you wish,
e-mail me to set a time and I can call you and 3-way
you in and simply listen while you talk.
