TODAY'S
PHOTO -
seaweed and sea grasses on Delray Beach at high
tide at sunrise
Whenever I went to the blog recently I particularly
enjoyed seeing the thumbnails of the NATURal Collages
in Issues 132
and 133.
Those are now beyond the 10 current issues showing,
so the thumbnails are no longer visible. The photos
and issues are there to see in the archives.
This being the case I decided to bring back the moisture
and brightness of the seaweed images by featuring
another photo from that July 4th sunrise walk.
The early morning bright sunlight, is the dominant
element that makes this work so well for me. In addition,
I chose this particular image for the colors and the
movement.
Regarding lighting and timing - I went for another,
almost-sunrise, beach walk earlier this week. It was
low tide. The seaweed pieces, several feet away from
the water, were bland and uninteresting and the patterns
left by the water pulling back on the sand were almost
non-existent.
SELF-REFLECTING QUERIES
-
Are you aware of what the differences in timing and
light can do to and for your favorite images? What
do timing and light do for you?
Do you know the hours during the day when you shine
and reflect the most light? If so, do you use this
information? If light has an empowering effect on
you, how do/can you compensate when it's absent?
Thanks to my friend Judith Tramayne-Barth who showed
me what Delray Sunrise looks like on her screen, I
now have the image full-size on my desktop. Morning
light is now available always.
