TODAY'S PHOTO -
A dose of energy for your day. The Atlantic Ocean
in Boynton Beach, FL, early one morning last winter.
The responses to my references yesterday
to water and positive and negative ions had me search
my files for ocean pictures. I had many with grandchildren
in them, most with very few waves, AND I wanted the
ocean experience to be yours alone; thus this view.
I will also be on the lookout for ones with waves
that you can ride.
READER COMMENTS ON YESTERDAY'S ISSUE - Issue
60
After reading the following two responses, I realized
that sometime within the next week Sam and I definitely
have to take the 20 minute ride to the ocean, walk
on the beach and, if warm enough, go into the ocean.
Although we've walked there, we have not actually
been in the ocean for at least three years.
One reader sent the following. She was unable to identify
the writer and I felt it important to include anyway.
It's certain to make a difference for me.
"Regarding water and ions, this hangs both
over my desk at work and my desk at home. I firmly
believe in the healing power of water, waves and sand.
Once a year--like migrating salmon
All humans should force their way into the sea
And walk humbly into the water.
They should let the WAVES splash them,
And the SAND suck from under their feet
They should do this
Young or old, rich or poor, hale or frail
For it will more greatly improve the mind than
Any treatment devised by any branch of medicine."
and, interestingly, another dental office experience
was shared:
"How very true about water. I never knew these
facts you presented, but I have always had a sense
of calm around water. I lived in Florida for about
27 years and the ocean was always the place I went
to for calm, whether in my mind or for real.
I also go to the ocean when I'm at the dentist's.
It's funny, I get so calm the dentist actually always
asks me if I'm ok. I totally detach from the dentist's
chair and am at the ocean. I miss the water. I'm here
in Colorado now and the mountains are fine, but I
love the ocean and all water. In fact, many times
I'll leave my faucet running just to hear water. And
yes, this picture is very relaxing and peaceful. Maybe
it's time to move back to Florida."
Thanks so much to two of you, as well as the others
of you who responded, for your contribution to me,
as well as to our readers!
