TODAY'S PHOTO -
a Fire Flag leaf "pondering" in Wakodahatchee
Wetlands. It appears to be looking down at its toes.
I love the different shapes that the fire flag leaves
take when they have passed their "prime of
life." I'm noticing my reluctance to use the
word "dying", for they still feel so vital
to me. I actually have a folder on my desk top that
says "Fire Flag Book", for one of my "one
day/some day" books.
Those of you who are new subscribers, and haven't
seen the other fire flag images in Picture to Ponder,
can check out the Issues 11,
25,
33
and 64.
In the earlier issues of PTP. the discussion followed
the next day. The more recent Issue
64 , featuring the "Tri-colored Heron and
the Fire Flag Artist," attracted the most attention.
As I look at the photo above a final time, for now,
I am noticing a profile of a tribal mask with, what
had been the head looking down now being, the hair
or flowing hat of the mask on the right.
How many different things can you see as you view
the photograph? If you take your eye off where you
originally focussed, does anything else come up
for you? If so, take a few moments for further reflection.
Are there any areas of your life on which you are
so focussed, right now, that you might be missing
something else important in the picture? I invite
you to step back and "view" the whole.
